Wieden+Kennedy employs dogs! Well, sort of. More like allowing their employees to bring in their dogs, but it was enough to grab my attention. Even without their four-legged additions, Wieden+Kennedy NYC knew how to make a good first impression.
You won’t find any awards when you first walk in, but rather a wall of 3D printed figurines of their employees in various quirky poses and outfits. If it’s the many awards the agency has won over the years that you want to see, you’ll be sure to see them the next time you visit the copy-room where they are still proudly displayed over the printer. Humility goes a long way for such an esteemed agency.
It’s clear that the focus is on the people at Wieden+Kennedy NY. Meetings are held collectively on a grand staircase in the center of the agency and the overall atmosphere was buzzing with creativity and laughter.
UNT’s own Ashlea Ramirez joined the panel of the (all-female) line-up to share her experience as a Project Manager and was joined by Jr. Copywriter, Katie D’Agostino, JR. Art Director, Grace Martin, Executive Producer, Cheryl Warbrook, and Account Manager Liz Taylor. The panel shared their experiences with ad school, nail-biting mountainside shots, and being female in a still male-dominated industry.
All-in-all Wieden+Kennedy offered something for everyone and was as awe-inspiring as it was humbly-charming.
