When you visit Anomaly’s website the first thing you will see is the sentence, “More than an advertising agency.” One can’t help to think, “Oh this advertising agency is trying to go against the norms and say that they aren’t an advertising agency. How cliché.” I am not going to lie that is exactly what I thought when I first read it. Then we went to the agency and that sentence was reaffirmed throughout the entire visit.
Anomaly aligns themselves with actual problems in the real world, they create their own software and programs, and they actually have created products that have sold on the market. In class I had a teacher tell me that advertising is not the business if you want to change the world. Anomaly actually disproves that statement with their work.
They have done amazing work with Johnny Walker, Beats by Dre, Converse, and many more. Before walking into the agency we all knew that Anomaly won advertising agency of the year for 2017 by AdAge so are expectations were high. However, I think it is safe to speak for everyone in saying that Anomaly went above and beyond and met those expectations.
Their agency was amazingly setup and the environment and vibe of the main floor was hip, creative, and fun! Most importantly, Anomaly was one of the only agencies we visited that had music playing over the loudspeakers. The people we met were so nice and showed us a lot of what they were doing and you could tell that when they talked about their work they really had something to say. Anomaly was one of the agencies that all of us are going to remember for a while and it was an amazing experience being able to gather around and admire awesome work.
